SunProtection Australia is an Australian owned and managed business based in Northern NSW, Australia. Founded by Warren and Kerryn Meanwell, their aim is to reduce the incidence of skin cancer to people in the high risk categories ie. people who love to spend long hours outdoors.

The website was developed in 1998 as an educational tool with informative articles and a self diagnosis section to assist people with the early detection of skin cancer. After years of encouraging feedback it was established that there was a real need for more practical preventive measures to reduce the high incidence of skin cancer for all types of outdoor enthusiast’s ranging from people with skin disorders to outdoor workers.

From humble beginnings selling hats at the local markets in 1994, the business now boasts a national and overseas distribution of a wide range of innovative sun protection products for men, women and children. Their own GoSo brand of award winning sunprotection apparel is designed with comfort and functionality in mind to suit the likes of fishermen, kayakers, hikers and outdoor workers.

Research has shown that the skin is most susceptible to sun damage in the first twenty years of life. Our aim is to continue to make a difference: to educate people of the need to cover up and offer practical solutions to allow everyone to enjoy the great outdoors without putting their skin at risk.
